Amazon will bring 800 tech-focused workers to its hub in Austin, Texas. The jobs are in addition to the 6,600 workers the company currently employs in the metro area. The move comes after Apple announced in December that it would spend $1 billion to build a new campus in North Austin and hire an additional 5,000 workers. Austin was also among the 20 finalist cities in the running for a large Amazon campus but ultimately lost out to Northern Virginia and New York City.
