Amazon is on a hiring spree in India—there are more than 1,100 openings in the country—while the company is struggling to curb new government regulations set to go into effect next month. The new regulations, which are aimed at protecting Indian companies, prevent foreign online retailers from selling products through affiliated companies they own a heavy ownership stake in, or from offering special discounts and products that are exclusive to the retailer. Amazon has reportedly invested $5 billion in the country with plans for an additional $2 billion.
